Adam was born in Muscatine, Iowa and grew up in poverty after losing his father in a car accident at a young age. His mother worked low paying restaurant and gas station jobs while raising the family on food stamps, and there were times when food ran out before the end of the month. Despite those challenges, Adam navigated the challenges of a poor rural upbringing, but it wasn’t easy. He supported himself through school and built a professional career that eventually led to senior leadership at one of America’s largest companies.
That career brought Adam to Thomasville, where he quickly fell in love with the community and the people of South Georgia. Living and working here showed him both the strength of this district and the challenges families face; rising costs, underfunded rural schools, strained healthcare access, and too many hardworking people who still struggle to get ahead.
